O' HOLEY WATER HEATER

T'was the week before Christmas,
And all through the house
Sat boxes, and clothes, and
A cute, wind-up mouse.

The clothing was hung
In the bathroom with care,
To dry from the water,
That sprayed through the air.

The dining room, kitchen,
and even the den,
Flowed over with piles
To be sorted...AGAIN.

The heaters were running,
And towels were laid out,
To sop up the puddles,
And dry everything out.

The carpet, it squished,
In the bedroom, so wet,
And a soaked futon pad,
Mocked me under the bed.

The closet was empty,
The racks taken down,
More piles of clothing,
rising high, like a crown.

The water, shut off,
Kept the flooding at bay,
Making trips to the bathroom,
More complex...I'd say.

Now we have water,
The leak has been stopped,
As holidays go, this one
May not be topped.

So, I thanked those that helped,
As they drove out of sight,
Merry Christmas to you,
And a DRY Winters night!!

~David Pirkle / 2015
I was inspired to write this poem, a true story that happened(and continues) over the last 48 hours. A rather soggy and congested holiday season for us.

A friend actually set up a "GoFundMe" for the clean-up and repairs.

I just like the fact that you are INSPIRED by so many things! So at least SOMETHING good came out of all this mess. Keep your head up and I will sure keep my fingers crossed for a dryer time SOON! :huggle:
