I really have no idea what this "key" is for. It came to me in a dream. I was going around through this Victorian mansion, trying to find out what this key was made for, but no one could help me or give me any clues. The upside is that the cake was NOT a lie.(Portal joke)
It is exactly 6 inches long and seems to light up when in contact with a user.

It's the key to a Time Machine! In the original H. G. Wells story, the Time Machine was powered and controlled by a key/lever adorned with a cut crystal.
